The rules
- Each number counts the hidden mines touching its tile, also at the corners.
- Number tiles are never mines.
- Mark exactly as many mines as the mine total says, so that every number is right.
- You win when every number and the total are right; tiles left unmarked then count as Safe.
A worked example
The middle number is 2. Its only neighbors without numbers are the top-left and bottom-right cells. Both must be mines. The top-left cell is already marked Mine. Mark the bottom-right cell Mine.
Playing it in Quirk
Every number is already shown, and marking a tile reveals nothing.
Tap a tile without a number to step it through Mine, Safe and empty. With Note on, a tap adds a note, which does not change your answer. The list shows the same tiles, if you prefer it.
There is no timer and you never have to guess.
Tip: Start with a 0: every tile touching it is Safe.
